Giant Size

Giant is used mostly in the 60s and 70s when the first giant sized 80 page comics with classic reprints first appeared. Superman Annual #1 was the first one from DC Comics in 1960. Marvel referred to them as King Size Annuals (and Queen Size Annuals for girls’ titles like Millie the Model). In the 80s and onwards the term was less used – Double Size or 48 pages was the most popular format to celebrate a 25th, 50th , 75th or 100th issue.
