Collector Notes:
#110 (Jul 1963) 1st appearance of Dr. Strange and The Ancient One by Steve Ditko in back-up story with no mention on the cover. The cover story is the team up of The Wizard and Paste-Pot Pete versus the Human Torch. The British variant has the printed ninepence cover price in place of American 12 cents.
There have been big increases on this issue in recent times. And lots more being graded and slabbed by CGC!
Jul 2015 saw the total at 671 copies with 6 in 9.6 and 12 in 9.4 (1 restored). And 16 UK variants with a new top graded 8.5 VF+. Nice!
Am American auction company sold one of the 9.6 copies for a staggering $44,812.50 (£29,875) in Nov 2013.
This is an issue that has seen significant increases in recent years. Wait till the Doc Strange movie comes out!
