Following the One Year Later event, starting with Aquaman #40, the series was renamed Aquaman: Sword of Atlantis and taken in a totally different direction story/plot-wise by writer Kurt Busiek. Aquaman is missing and thought dead. A youth by the name of Arthur Joseph Curry is called by the mysterious Dweller (a mutated Aquaman with lost memory) ;in the Depths to take up the mantle of Aquaman.
The first 4 issues are reprinted in a Trade Paper Back collection entitled The Waterbearer.
